Purchases
What is free, and what do I get when I buy?
One board is free, with five chalks, three widths, the eraser, undo and sharing a picture. Chalkwork Pro (one purchase, no subscription) opens as many boards as you like, every chalk and look, shapes, words, notes, templates, tracing, replay, iCloud sync and shared boards, and includes Classroom. Chalkwork Classroom (also one purchase) is for teachers who only want Lessons, Present, worksheets and narrated replays. If you own Classroom, you can upgrade to Pro for less.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open Chalkwork, tap the unlock button, and choose Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
Can my family use my purchase?
Yes. Both purchases work with Family Sharing; if purchase sharing is on for your family group, everyone in it can tap Restore Purchase.
How do I ask for a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.
Boards and iCloud
Will my boards move to a new device?
If you set up the new device from a backup, yes. You can also turn on Keep boards in iCloud Drive in Your Boards on each device (signed in to the same Apple Account), or make a backup file in Board options and open it on the other device. Restoring a backup only adds boards; it never replaces yours.
Why does a board show “(other device)”?
The same board was changed on two devices while they were not connected, so Chalkwork kept both versions rather than lose either. Keep the one you want and delete the other.
I wiped a board by mistake.
Open Board options › The Board’s Past. Chalkwork keeps recent wipes of each board there, and you can bring one back. Undo also works right after a wipe.
Shared boards
How do I share a board?
Open the share menu (the arrow at the top right) and choose Invite to Draw Together, then send the invite by Messages, Mail or AirDrop. Everyone who accepts can draw on the board together. Sharing needs Chalkwork Pro; joining a board someone shares with you does not.
Teaching
Where are Lessons and Present?
They are part of Chalkwork Classroom (and of Pro). Lessons is in Your Boards; Present opens from a lesson’s menu or Board options. Present can show the board on a projector or Apple TV, with a laser pointer, spotlight and magnifier.
How do I make a handout or a student copy?
Open the lesson’s menu and choose Share. A Printable Handout is every board on white paper in dark ink; a Student Copy leaves out the green chalk, so answers written in green don’t print.
Display
Can I use Chalkwork without colors?
Yes. In Board options turn on Black & White for a black board with only white chalk. It also turns on by itself when Increase Contrast is on in Settings › Accessibility › Display & Text Size.
